Rocking the Daisies with TreeCo
Rocking the Daisies with TreeCo
13 OCTOBER 2016
For those of you who were enjoying the splendorous sounds of Rocking The Daisies this year, you will have seen the 80 TreeCo trees we sponsored to the event, boogying there with you.

Cloof Wine Estate hosts around 25 000 festival goers each year, but the music fest is not what makes the estate famous, actually it's the delicious wines produced from their unirrigated bush vines that draws the crowds year round. Pruning vines is a calculated science as each snip produces a difference in foliage, photosynthesis and grape ripening.

TreeCo has been exceptionally busy this month running multiple projects alongside our planting season. We planted 2000 x 20L trees and shrubs, 1000 x 100L trees and fruit trees and about 2500 x 2L trees and shrubs. We then added to our existing stock list and planted 500 x 20L fruit trees which should be ready for you by February; we’ll keep you posted about their progress in the months to come.

Then, on the 9th of September at Grand West arena, the Cape Green forum hosted another spectacular Cape Green Trade day. As always, TreeCo caught up with some familiar industry faces and spent time chatting to new clients in the little forest we created for the event. Thank you to Cape Green Forum for another delightful day. Take a look at photos of the event and TreeCo’s busy month on our Facebook page. Don’t forget to LIKE and SHARE our posts with others.
Spring starts in full swing
Spring starts in full swing
10 OCTOBER 2014
What a busy month this has been for TreeCo.
Spring time is THE time to start growing, so we started this season with a bang.

TreeCo is in the process of organically planting more than four thousand trees into containers, ranging from 20lt to 100lt.

A big thank you to Cape Contours, who placed a big order for Spring time. We had our hands (and our bakkies) full with a Friday delivery of 140 trees to
Buh Rein Estate, it is going to look amazing.

We also had the privilege of working with the DGB group placing four trees creating a wonderful landmark which you will see as you enter Franschoek.

For more of our current happenings and to see the photos of what we have been up to, please follow us on Facebook.

TreeCo will be closed from the 11th of December till the 11th of January for a well deserved holiday season. The last of 2015’s deliveries and collections will be the 10th of December so please do get your order in in time to avoid disappointment. Remember that water is a priority this summer so keep on being water wise and stick to TreeCo eco friendly growing methods.

With the holiday season upon us we find ourselves reflecting on the past year and those who have helped shape our business. It's been quite a year for us and we hope that you have found 2015 just as memorable. THANK YOU to all our regular and new clients - we wish you and your loved ones a blessed festive season; see you in 2016.

12 APRIL 2016
TreeCo would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our loyal and wonderful clients that supported us during the last three months. It’s been a great start to the new year. We actually upped our game about seven months ago and are pleased to announce that today we are supplying two of the industry giants with our top-notch trees. So a special thank you goes out to Johan Swanepoel from Arboreta Nurseries and Dean Kingham from Habitat Tree Nursery for their advice and guidance in making our product even better. Whoever said you can’t work along side your competitor?

Over the course of this summer, TreeCo had a proud 20% drop in water consumption in December. But now, three months down the line, we are using between 50 and 60% less water than before. If you would like to implement similar water saving systems, please contact us.

Another positive outcome of the water restrictions has been that TreeCo trees are a lot hardier than we had originally anticipated, which means you can continue to look forward to planting healthy and robust TreeCo trees and shrubs.
TreeCo bags the best trees again

10 MARCH 2015
It’s that time of the year when we are in the process of planting and replanting about 4000 trees again. This, as you can imagine, is a massive undertaking as each tree takes about an hour to transplant. At TreeCo, we use root control grow bags for our stock. The bags are soft sided which means they are soft on our trees’ roots. They ensure a greater root surface area because they promote fibrous root systems instead of circular root systems like that of hard containers. Because grow bags produce more concentrated root systems, the ‘rootball’ is smaller and less space is needed on your nursery floor for the same amount of stock. It also means that TreeCo trees are easier to move and deliver. Did you know that we deliver? Give us a call on 021 864 3046 to place your big tree orders.

Our top highlight this month is a stunning new partnership with Master Organics. They have been in the business for more than 47 years and we are exceptionally pleased that such a reputable, longstanding business in the green industry is selling our trees on a retail basis. We would also like to mention that one of the secret ingredients in TreeCo tree mix is a Master Organics product.

In the second week of May, TreeCo hosted 48 students from Cape Peninsula University of Technology’s horticulture and landscape department who came to see our set-up and operational systems, taking note of our newly planted Searsia pendulina (aka White Karree) in 100lt bags and other handy hints from Rudi.

Universities aren’t the only ones who have sought out TreeCo expertise recently. Rudi was a speaker at the Gardening Talks with Stodels not too long ago, where he shared his knowledge of caring and growing trees with Cape Town gardeners. Give him a call on 082 829 5543 if you would like him to speak at one of your events.

Heading into summer, we'll be acquiring 14,5k more trees and shrubs over the next few months as the expansion of TreeCo's nursery continues at full tilt. This is our biggest single acquisition yet so many thanks to all of our partners and clients for your ongoing support.

At TreeCo, we're always growing, and we keep our nursery fully stocked so that you can plant first class specimens all year round. You can even find some of South Africa's protected beauties in our nursery.
You are awesome!
